The national grid operator Tennet monitors the balance on the national grid night and day. To meet the mandatory balance responsibility, PVNED reports to TenneT how much energy you feed onto the grid. We predict this aided by specialized forecast models. We also report which party produces this energy, who buys it, and which grids you use to transport energy.
Imbalance prices TenneT
In spite of the precise forecasting, preventing imbalance is impossible. TenneT uses contracted plants to compensate energy shortages or surpluses, which causes varying imbalance prices. To reduce imbalance costs, PVNED works with an imbalance pool. In this way, we combine forces.
